Review Of Bajaj Avenger 150 Street - The 150cc segment is filled with a lot of motorcycles, we have commuters, we have premium commuters and we have sporty models like the Yamaha R15 and the Honda CBR150R and now we also have a cruiser, yes that's right, Bajaj Auto has just launched the Avenger 150 which shares everything with the bigger Avenger 220 but has a smaller engine borrowed from the Pulsar 150. Now this motorcycle does look very promising but does it have enough power for a cruiser, well, we are going to find out just that. Unlike the bigger 220cc Avenger, the 150cc model is offered in one version only, the Street. As the name suggests, the styling does remind one of the Harley-Davidson Street 750 with the alloy wheels, lack of chrome and full black styling. The instrument cluster is a simple unit with a speedometer and a LCD unit for the odometer and single trip meter.
Powering the Avenger Street 150 is the same 2-valve engine that does duty on the Pulsar 150, producing 14.5 PS and 12.5 Nm. The motor is refined with good NVH and has been tweaked for improved torque spread, resulting in good low and mid-range performance. Thus there is ample grunt in the city but out on the highway, the Street 150 does run of breath at just under 100 km/hr. The clutch is light and the gearbox is quite smooth while fuel economy is impressive at over 45 km/l. As the name suggests, the Avenger Street 150 is aimed at urban riders and thus gets a lower set handlebar for easy manoeuvrability in the city. Handling is good by cruiser standards and the ride quality is also praise worthy with the seat offering good comfort.
The disc and drum set up does work well to stop the bike effectively. Now this Avenger 150 makes great sense for those looking to buy a 150cc motorcycle because Bajaj Auto The Avenger Street 150 doesn't have the performance for highway riding and is strictly for use in the city and in that sense, it makes for a great alternative to other city commuters.
